Among those under investigation are also two people residing in the populous Sidicino center and in the Agro Caleno area. They are among the 30 people under investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere over a scheme involving false invoices worth several million euros. In recent days, public prosecutors Mariangela Condello and Simona Faga notified those under investigation of the order concluding the preliminary investigations. The investigation by the Mondragone Financial Police, carried out through financial checks as well as telephone interceptions, uncovered various forms of conduct considered unlawful by investigators. In particular, they allegedly all made use of invoices and other documents for non-existent transactions issued by shell companies – that is, companies existing only on paper – declaring fictitious deductible items, in addition to VAT, in their annual tax returns in order to evade taxes.
