Claudia Sheinbaum, as National Coordinator of the Transformation, integrated the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM) into the initiative by establishing the CATEM Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation. “I am pleased to formalize this extensive coalition with the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico,” Sheinbaum announced publicly.
During an event at Arena Ciudad de México, Sheinbaum administered oaths to over 10,000 individuals who will participate in the CATEM Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, emphasizing the aim of securing dignified conditions for workers.
Pedro Haces Barba, senator and general secretary of CATEM, highlighted the strides made in labor rights under the Fourth Transformation, including wage increases, additional vacation days, and the abolition of outsourcing.
“At this congress, we are at a pivotal moment, reaffirming our dedication to the principles of the Fourth Transformation,” stated Sheinbaum.
