Iran Protests Enter Day 3: ‘Where Are the Free Palestine Activists?’

As anti-government protests continue to sweep through Iran for the third consecutive day, many are questioning the silence of the pro-Palestine movement in the West. While the streets and campuses of Western countries were once filled with passionate demonstrations in support of the Palestinian cause, the same level of activism seems to be missing when it comes to the Iranian people’s fight against their own oppressive regime.

The ongoing protests in Iran were sparked by a sudden increase in fuel prices, which have caused widespread economic hardship for the already struggling population. But these demonstrations have quickly turned into a larger movement against the authoritarian rule of the Islamist dictatorship in Iran. The people of Iran are bravely standing up against a regime that has suppressed their basic rights and freedoms for far too long.

Yet, as the Iranian people risk their lives to demand change and freedom, the pro-Palestine activists in the West seem to have gone silent. Where are the voices that were once so loud and passionate in their support for the Palestinian cause? Why are they not standing in solidarity with the Iranian people who are fighting for their own rights and freedoms?

The lack of support from the pro-Palestine movement for the Iranian people’s struggle is not only disappointing, but it also raises important questions about the true motives of these activists. Are they truly committed to fighting for justice and freedom for all oppressed people, or do they have a selective approach to activism?

It is no secret that the Iranian regime has been a staunch supporter of the Palestinian cause, providing financial and military aid to groups like Hamas and Hezbollah. This has led many to question whether the pro-Palestine activists in the West are turning a blind eye to the atrocities committed by the Iranian regime in order to maintain their support for the Palestinian cause.

But this selective approach to activism is not only hypocritical, it is also damaging to the cause itself. By remaining silent on the Iranian people’s struggle, the pro-Palestine movement is sending a message that their support for the Palestinian cause is conditional and that they are willing to overlook human rights abuses as long as it serves their political agenda.

The truth is, the Iranian people and the Palestinian people are both fighting against oppressive regimes that deny them their basic rights and freedoms. They are both victims of authoritarian rule and deserve the same level of support and solidarity from the international community.

It is time for the pro-Palestine activists in the West to stand up for what they claim to believe in – justice and freedom for all. They cannot pick and choose which causes to support based on political alliances. The Iranian people need their voices now more than ever, and it is the responsibility of these activists to use their platform to amplify their message.

The silence of the pro-Palestine movement in the face of the Iranian people’s struggle is not only a betrayal of their own values, but it is also a disservice to the Palestinian cause. By standing in solidarity with the Iranian people, they are not only showing their commitment to justice and freedom, but they are also building a stronger and more united front against oppression and tyranny.

In the words of Martin Luther King Jr., “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” The fight for justice and freedom is a universal one, and it is time for the pro-Palestine activists to recognize that and stand with the Iranian people in their time of need.

As the protests in Iran enter their third day, let us not forget the power of solidarity and the impact it can have on bringing about real change. It is time for the pro-Palestine movement to break their silence and join hands with the Iranian people in their fight for a better future. Only then can we truly claim to be champions of justice and freedom for all.
