Addressing a fan’s question, Dhoni mentioned his intention to spend more time with the Army after his cricket career concludes. Following last season’s victory against GT in the final, Dhoni announced his decision to play for at least one more year.

“I have never thought about it. I am still playing cricket. IPL I am still playing. It will be very interesting to see what I end up doing after cricket. I think for sure, I want to spend a bit more time with the Army because the last few years I have not been able to do that,” said Dhoni.

In what might be his final IPL season, Dhoni will lead CSK. In the previous season, he guided the team to their fifth IPL title by defeating Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans in the final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

After a challenging start in IPL 2022, CSK attempted to replace Dhoni with Ravindra Jadeja as captain. However, the team struggled and languished at the bottom of the table. Dhoni returned in 2023, leading CSK to the title in Ahmedabad.
