Petrol, Diesel Fresh Prices Announced: Check Rates In Your City On July 10

Petrol and diesel are two of the most commonly used fuels in India. They are the lifeline of our transportation system and play a crucial role in the country’s economic growth. However, the prices of these fuels have been a major concern for the common man. With the constant fluctuations in the global oil market, the prices of petrol and diesel in India have been on a rollercoaster ride. In order to keep the citizens informed, the government has implemented a daily revision of fuel prices. As we approach the month of July, let’s take a look at the current city-wise rates of petrol and diesel across India, including in Delhi, Mumbai, and Chennai.

As of July 10, 2021, the price of petrol in Delhi stands at Rs. 100.91 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs. 89.88 per litre. In Mumbai, the price of petrol is slightly higher at Rs. 106.93 per litre, and diesel is priced at Rs. 97.46 per litre. Moving down south, in Chennai, the price of petrol is Rs. 101.67 per litre, and diesel is Rs. 94.39 per litre. These prices are subject to change on a daily basis, depending on the international crude oil prices and the exchange rate of the Indian rupee.

The increase in fuel prices can be attributed to the rise in global crude oil prices. The demand for crude oil has been steadily increasing as countries around the world are slowly recovering from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This has led to a surge in the prices of crude oil, which in turn has affected the prices of petrol and diesel in India. The government has also imposed high taxes on these fuels, which further adds to the burden of the common man.

The rise in fuel prices has a cascading effect on the economy. It leads to an increase in the prices of essential commodities, transportation costs, and overall inflation. This puts a strain on the budget of the common man, especially those belonging to the middle and lower-income groups. It also affects the businesses and industries that heavily rely on these fuels for their operations. The government has been facing criticism for not taking enough measures to control the rising fuel prices.

However, it is important to note that the government has also taken some steps to provide relief to the citizens. In June 2021, the central government cut the excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs. 2 per litre. This move was aimed at providing some respite to the citizens from the rising fuel prices. The state governments have also reduced the VAT (Value Added Tax) on these fuels, which has helped in bringing down the prices to some extent.

The government has also emphasized the need for alternative sources of energy to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. The push towards electric vehicles, biofuels, and other renewable energy sources is a step in the right direction. It not only reduces our carbon footprint but also helps in reducing our dependence on expensive imported crude oil. The government has also launched schemes and initiatives to promote the use of electric vehicles, which will have a positive impact on the environment and the economy in the long run.

In conclusion, the current fuel prices in India are a cause for concern, but the government is taking steps to address the issue. It is important for the citizens to be aware of the city-wise rates of petrol and diesel to plan their expenses accordingly. While the government is working towards finding a long-term solution, it is also the responsibility of the citizens to adopt sustainable practices and reduce their consumption of fossil fuels. Let us all work together towards a greener and more economical future.
