To say there is a problem with the U.S.-Mexico border is an understatement, and December proved it.
Less a border than a suggestion, the number of people flowing through Central America to cross the border is rare in the extreme, if unprecedented.
🚨BORDER COSTS SPIRALING, COSTING EACH AMERICAN
U.S. taxpayers spend $182 billion annually on illegal immigration, averaging $1,156 per American.
In December alone, 276,000 people were detained at the border, a new high.

A Record Number
While illegal immigration has been out of control for decades, it is now reaching record numbers. 2023 was the worst year on record, and December was the worst month of the worst year.
Fox News reports:
The U.S. southern border saw its highest rate of illegal migrant encounters last month, blowing away previous statistics.
Sources with Customs and Border Patrol told Fox News Digital that migrant encounters hit a staggering 300,000 incidents in the last month of 2023, reaching a level thought unimaginable just years ago.
Between Dec. 1 and December 31, more than 302,000 migrants were documented attempting to cross the U.S. southern border.
It is the highest total for a single month ever recorded. It is also the first time migrant encounters have exceeded 300,000.
More than 785,000 migrant encounters have been reported since the beginning of the fiscal year on Oct. 1 — the highest first quarter total ever recorded.
The Biden administration has claimed that the border is “operationally secure.”

Republicans Not Having It
GOP members are criticizing Biden for going on vacation in St. Croix given how bad the border crisis has become.
The Hill reported, “Republicans are hitting President Biden for a family vacation in St. Croix amid a crisis at the border, arguing it shows how the White House has been absent on the issue.”
“The president is taking the annual trip to the Virgin Islands over the New Year’s holiday, which comes this year as a migrant caravan gains attention while heading to the United States and border crossings are increasing,” the story added.
Joe Biden is on vacation AGAIN while our southern border is being invaded by illegal aliens.
He continues to put America LAST.

“Joe Biden’s vacationing in the Virgin Islands while the southern border is in crisis,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said in a release this week, while Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.) hit Biden for being “on vacation AGAIN while our southern border is being invaded by illegal aliens.”

Don't be fooled, this is what the radical Left has always wanted.

“Joe Biden is soaking up the sun in the Caribbean while an army of illegal aliens crash our southern border. Don’t be fooled, this is what the radical Left has always wanted,” said Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs (R).
They have a point. How can a president take a vacation when his own country’s borders are in such disarray?
Perhaps Joe Biden just answered that question.
