Fetterman on Dem Opposition to Iran Strikes: They’re Afraid to Agree with Trump on Anything

During Wednesday’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania spoke about his support for the recent U.S. strikes against Iran and why he believes his Democrat colleagues were against it.

The strikes, which took place earlier this week, were a direct response to the Iranian government’s attack on a U.S. military base in Iraq. The attack, which resulted in the death of an American contractor, was seen as a significant escalation of tensions between the two nations.

Senator Fetterman, a Democrat, was one of the few members of his party who openly supported the strikes. In his interview with Jesse Watters, he explained that he believes it was the right decision to make in order to protect American lives and send a strong message to Iran.

“I understand that my Democrat colleagues may have reservations about agreeing with President Trump on anything,” Senator Fetterman said. “But when it comes to protecting our nation and our people, we should put politics aside and do what is best for our country.”

The senator also pointed out that the Iranian regime has a long history of aggression and is a known sponsor of terrorism. He emphasized that the strikes were not meant to start a war, but rather to show Iran that the United States will not tolerate their hostile actions.

“We cannot allow Iran to continue to threaten our national security and that of our allies,” Senator Fetterman stated. “The strikes were a necessary measure to defend ourselves and send a clear message to Iran that their actions will not go unpunished.”

However, many of Senator Fetterman’s Democrat colleagues have been vocal in their opposition to the strikes. Some have even gone so far as to criticize the Trump administration for not seeking congressional approval before taking military action.

But Senator Fetterman believes that the president has the authority to act in the best interest of the nation and that seeking congressional approval would have only delayed necessary action.

“It’s easy to criticize from the sidelines, but when it comes down to it, our number one priority should be the safety and security of our country,” he said.

Senator Fetterman’s stance on the issue has received some backlash from within his own party, but he remains firm in his belief that the strikes were justified and necessary.

“We cannot let political differences stand in the way of protecting our nation,” he stated. “I am proud to stand with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle who understand the gravity of the situation and support the actions taken by our military.”

In conclusion, Senator Fetterman’s support for the U.S. strikes against Iran demonstrates the importance of putting aside political differences in the face of a threat to our nation. The senator’s bold stance serves as a reminder that when it comes to national security, unity should always prevail over partisanship.
