Son of Sardar 2 Review: Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur Shine But The Film Is Not A Laugh Riot

Ajay Devgn, one of Bollywood’s most talented and versatile actors, is known for his intense and powerful performances on the big screen. However, in his latest film, he and his gang of comedians attempt to tickle our funny bones and make us laugh. Unfortunately, their efforts fall short and the film ends up as a mediocre attempt at comedy.

The film in question is ‘Money Heist’, directed by Indra Kumar, which is a remake of the Spanish film ‘La Casa de Papel’. The film boasts of a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Esha Gupta. With such a talented cast, one would expect a rib-tickling comedy, but the film fails to deliver on that promise.

The film revolves around a group of con artists who plan to rob a wealthy man’s mansion. Ajay Devgn plays the role of a con artist who leads the group, while Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit play a married couple who are also part of the group. The rest of the gang is made up of Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Esha Gupta, each playing their respective roles with great enthusiasm.

The film starts off on a promising note, with witty one-liners and hilarious situations. However, as the story progresses, the jokes start to fall flat and the humor becomes forced. The plot becomes predictable and the gags become repetitive, making the audience lose interest.

One of the major flaws of the film is its weak storyline. The story lacks depth and fails to engage the audience. It seems like the makers were too focused on creating comedy scenes rather than developing a strong plot. As a result, the film suffers and fails to make a lasting impression.

Ajay Devgn, who is known for his impeccable comic timing, fails to bring his A-game to the table. His character lacks the charm and wit that we have seen in his previous comedy films. Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit, who are known for their exceptional chemistry, also fail to create the magic on screen. Their characters seem forced and lack the spark that we have seen in their previous collaborations.

The rest of the cast, including Riteish Deshmukh, Arshad Warsi, Javed Jaffrey and Esha Gupta, try their best to salvage the film with their comic timing, but their efforts are not enough to save the sinking ship. The characters lack depth and are one-dimensional, making it difficult for the audience to connect with them.

The film also suffers from poor direction and editing. The jokes are dragged on for too long and the pace of the film is slow, making it a tedious watch. The music also fails to leave a mark and the songs seem like unnecessary additions to the film.

In conclusion, ‘Money Heist’ is a failed attempt at comedy and falls short of the mark. Ajay Devgn and his gang of comedians try their best to make us laugh, but the weak storyline, poor direction, and lackluster performances make it a forgettable film. It is a pity to see such a talented cast go to waste in a mediocre film. As an audience, we have come to expect more from Ajay Devgn, and this film fails to meet those expectations.

In the end, one can only hope that Ajay Devgn and his team learn from their mistakes and come back with a stronger and more entertaining film in the future. For now, ‘Money Heist’ can be skipped and one can catch up on the original Spanish version instead. As for Ajay Devgn fans, it’s better to revisit his previous comedy hits rather than wasting time on this lackluster attempt.
