Ellerstina Yellow Rose, with Gonzalo and Nicolás Pieres, was introduced as contenders for the Triple Crown

In the distinguished setting of Enero Costanera in Buenos Aires, the Pieres siblings, Gonzalo and Nicolás, alongside the fresh faces Bautista Bayugar and Ignatius Du Plessis, took the wraps off their Ellerstina Yellow Rose lineup for the upcoming Argentine polo season. The event highlighted the team’s new jersey and provided a platform for the players to voice their ambitions for the forthcoming year. “We’re thrilled to dive into the season with our revamped team. It’s our ambition to make a strong start and consistently pursue excellence,” Gonzalo Pieres shared during the event, which was attended by numerous notable personalities.

This season, the illustrious Ellerstina team, which boasts a rich history of victories including multiple Argentine Polo Open championships, receives support from Yellow Rose, a club founded in Punta del Este in 1996 by Jorge “Corcho” Rodríguez. Rodriguez, alongside his partner Vero Lozano and other celebrities, were present to celebrate this unveiling.

Yellow Rose plays a pivotal role in enriching the international polo landscape, with activities across Argentina and Uruguay. Since 2021, it has enhanced its polo engagements in Argentina through a strategic alliance with Ellerstina. This partnership unites a vibrant and talented team, filled with energy and backed by a strong organizational structure that fosters player development and future success. Although Facundo Pieres has joined La Natividad this season, the team—which includes Nicolas Pieres, Bautista Bayugar, Gonzalo Pieres, and “Nachi” Du Plessis—holds an impressive 35-goal handicap. The team is keenly eyeing victories in the Argentine Triple Crown, which includes prestigious events like the Hurlingham Open, Tortugas Open, and the Argentine Open Polo Championship.

Sponsors for Ellerstina in this initiative include Yellow Rose, Jeep, Gibson, and RUS, with additional support from AlUla, Stella Artois, Sierra de los Padres, Enero Restaurant, Johnnie Walker, Clos de los Siete, and Aconcagua.

Moreover, Yellow Rose is recognized for its dedication to social causes and the promotion of equestrian sports. It organizes revered charity events that merge high-level polo with music and community support, attracting top polo talents and raising funds for social projects. Prominent Argentine polo players such as Polito Pieres, Ignacio Figueras, Gonzalo Pieres, Bartolomé “Barto” Castagnola, Mariano Aguerre, Facundo Pieres, and Pablo Llorente have been involved in these endeavors.

In 2021, the club hosted a significant event in Punta del Este, supported by the Argentine and Uruguayan Polo Associations, bringing together the cream of the crop in polo to aid the Marabo Sports and Social Club in General Rodríguez, Buenos Aires province. Yellow Rose’s commitment to social welfare is also evident in its collaboration with the Compromiso Foundation and the General Rodríguez Municipality. It offers a no-cost training program for individuals aged over 16, teaching digital skills such as Marketing, E-commerce, and Programming. The 2023 season is a landmark moment for the club as it becomes the primary sponsor of Ellerstina in the Triple Crown, reinforcing the shared ideals of family, friendship, and sport that Yellow Rose stands for.
