IPL 2024 Auction Roster Revealed! 333 Players to Go Under Intense Bidding for Indian Premier League 2024

The Indian Premier League (IPL) fever is all set to take over the nation once again as the official roster for the IPL 2024 auction was revealed. Three hundred and thirty-three players will be up for bidding as the auction is set to take place in the coastal city of Dubai.

The Board of Control for Cricket In India (BCCI) had earlier announced that the eleventh edition of the IPL is scheduled to be held in April 2024 but the auction taking place a year before is sure to escalate the thrill among the cricket fans.

The list of 333 players, which has already been circulated among the eight teams participating in the league, includes some of the biggest names in international cricket right now as well as some of the emerging young stars from different cricketing nations.

It is expected that these players will go under intense bidding as teams try to get the best talents in the lineup. Sources suggest that each team is looking to spend around Rs 200 crore in the auction.

Among the top international names that are expected to go under the hammer are Australia’s limited-overs captain Aaron Finch, England’s Test skipper Joe Root, South Africa’s white-ball captain Quinton de Kock and Indian limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma.

The list also comprises some of the most successful players from recent IPL seasons such as Andre Russell, AB de Villiers, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, R Ashwin and Hardik Pandya. Some of the bright young stars in the list are Rishabh Pant, Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Haseeb Hameed and Kagiso Rabada.

Apart from the international names, this year’s auction will also include some of the leading stars in domestic cricket. Players like Ambati Rayudu, Mayank Agarwal, Dinesh Karthik, Siddhesh Lad, Shivam Dube, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and many more are expected to participate in the auction.

Talking about the preparations for the auction, BCCI secretary Jay Shah said: “We are really looking forward to the auction for IPL 2024 and are confident that it will be a thrilling affair for all cricket fans. We have worked hard with all the teams to ensure that all players get a fair chance to showcase their cricketing skills and get the best out of the tournament. We are sure that the auction will bring out some of the best performances from the players.”

The auction will begin in February 2024 at the Dubai Cricket Stadium and will be conducted in three phases. As per the rules, each team will have to submit a list of 15 players in each round, out of which they can bid for seven players.

IPL 2024 is set to take the cricketing world by storm and the anticipation for the auction is already building. With some of the biggest stars in cricket up for grabs, fans are sure to be in for a treat.
