Ashwin posted a picture of clear sky on his Instagram channel and wrote, “Sun finally breaking through after a wet day.”

With the pitch likely to offer more assist to pacers, the Indian management is likely to go with 4 pacers and 1 spinner for the 1st Test. This means, Ravichandran Ashwin might have to sit out to make way for Shardul Thakur in Playing XI.

India’s Test Squad: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Abhimanyu Easwaran, KL Rahul (wk), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Mohd. Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Prasidh Krishna, KS Bharat (wk).
