India squad bowling record in SA ahead of the India vs South Africa Test series

The India vs South Africa Test series is starting on December 26. The India cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, is gunning for a first-ever Test series win for India in South Africa. If Team India wishes to come on top of the Proteas Challenge, their bowling lineup has to run on full cylinders. Ahead of the Test series, let’s take a look at the India bowling record in SA:

India squad Test bowling record in SA

India’s 15-man squad consists of 7 bowling options: four pacers and three all-rounders (two spin and one pace). Combined, the seven bowlers have played just 18 matches in South Africa. Jasprit Bumrah is leading the way with 26 wickets in six matches, while Mukesh Kumar and Prasidh Krishna are yet to play a match in foreign conditions.

The biggest loss for the Indian cricket team is the absence of Mohammed Shami. The right-arm pacer is India’s third-highest wicket-taker in South Africa and will miss the series due to injury.
