India’s premier domestic Red Ball competition Ranji Trophy 2023-24 is scheduled to start from January 05. The competition will see 32 teams in the Elite category vie for a place in the coveted final on March 10. The Ranji Trophy is played in two categories. The Elite category will see 32 teams being divided in four groups of eight. Each team will play seven matches with top two teams from each group entering the quarter finals. In the Plate category, six teams that will face each other once in a round-robin format. The top four teams will advance to the knockout stage. The winners of the Plate competition will qualify for the next season’s Elite division.
