The Ellerstina Yellow Rose team, headed by Gonzalo and Nicolás Pieres, made its first outing in the Triple Crown

At the exclusive Enero Costanera venue in Buenos Aires, the Ellerstina Yellow Rose team, led by Gonzalo and Nicolás Pieres and featuring Bautista Bayugar and Ignatius Du Plessis as the latest additions for the season, was officially presented for the upcoming polo season in Argentina. The event, attended by various prominent figures, revealed the team’s new official shirt, and participants shared their anticipations for the upcoming year.

Gonzalo Pieres expressed enthusiasm about the start of the season with the new team, aiming for a positive beginning and success throughout the competitions. With a history of winning numerous championships, including multiple editions of the Argentine Polo Open, the team now benefits from the support of Yellow Rose, a polo club founded in 1996 in Punta del Este by Jorge “Corcho” Rodríguez. Notable personalities such as Jorge Rodríguez and his partner Vero Lozano were present at the presentation.

Yellow Rose continues to contribute to the growth of the international polo scene with its presence in both Argentina and Uruguay. Since 2021, the club has expanded its polo organization in Argentina, forming a strategic alliance with Ellerstina—a dynamic team with potential, enthusiasm, and robust organizational support, fostering the development and future prospects of its players.

The current season’s team, without Facundo Pieres—who joined the La Natividad quartet—comprises Nicolas Pieres, Bautista Bayugar, Gonzalo Pieres, and “Nachi” Du Pressis, reaching a collective handicap of 35 goals.

The team sets its sights high for the Argentine Triple Crown, featuring prestigious tournaments such as the Hurlingham Open, Tortugas Open, and the Argentine Open Polo Championship.

Ellerstina received sponsorship support from Yellow Rose, Jeep, Gibson, and RUS. Additional backing comes from AlUla, Stella Artois, Sierra de los Padres, Enero Restaurant, Johnnie Walker, Clos de los Siete, and Aconcagua.

Beyond its success in local tournaments, Yellow Rose distinguishes itself through its social commitment and promotion of equestrian sports. The club organizes charity events that combine high-handicap polo with music and solidarity, featuring renowned players and raising funds for social causes. Notable polo figures like Polito Pieres, Ignacio Figueras, Bartolomé “Barto” Castagnola, Mariano Aguerre, Facundo Pieres, Pablo Llorente, among others, have participated in these events.

In 2021, the club hosted an event in Punta del Este, sponsored by the Argentine Polo Association and the Uruguayan Polo Association, bringing together top polo players globally to benefit the Marabo Sports and Social Club in General Rodríguez, Buenos Aires province. Yellow Rose’s commitment is further demonstrated through collaboration with the Compromiso Foundation and the Municipality of General Rodríguez, promoting a free training program for individuals over 16 years old in digital trades such as Digital Marketing, Electronic Commerce, and Digital Programming.

The 2023 season marks a significant milestone for the club as it assumes the title sponsorship of Ellerstina in the Triple Crown, emphasizing the shared values of family, friendship, and sport promoted by Yellow Rose.
