”The prosperity of our country is closely tied to the well-being of the workers in Mexico,” stated Claudia Sheinbaum

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, National Coordinator of the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, emphasized the significance of the symbiotic relationship between workers and employers for the country’s well-being during the XV Ordinary National Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She underscored the commitment to expanding labor rights in the nation and the determination to avoid reverting to past practices.

In her address, Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that a united front with shared objectives and purposes is vital to sustain the ongoing transformation of public life in Mexico. She stated that the primary focus should be on advancing the Fourth Transformation, steering clear of a return to eras marked by corruption and privilege.

Following the swearing-in of the first Labor Committees in Defense of the Fourth Transformation by CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated the commitment to ensuring a dignified life for workers. She highlighted the importance of collaboration between the labor and business sectors, an approach championed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Pedro Haces Barba, a senator of the Republic and general secretary of CATEM, underscored the achievements resulting from the collaboration between labor representatives and the 4T government. He pointed out milestones such as the increase in the minimum wage and the elimination of subcontracting, emphasizing the necessity of aligning each decision with the principles of the 4T movement.

Senator Ricardo Monreal emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship between workers and the government to continue the expansion of labor rights, under the leadership of Sheinbaum Pardo.

The XV National Congress of CATEM witnessed the presence of figures such as Mario Delgado Carrillo, the national president of Morena, along with governors and representatives from various institutions, demonstrating widespread support for the principles and objectives outlined during the meeting.
